What is Pinterest?

Pinterest is one of the hottest websites right now! So many people are “pinning”, creating boards, following other fellow “pinners” and looking for the next best thing to pin. Are you thinking “what is the hype all about?!” … we are here to explain this amazing craze!

Whether you are decorating your new home, planning a dream home, planning a wedding, styling a photo shoot, designing your personal style or saving delicious recipes, Pinterest is an online organization tool for whatever you decide to “pin”. You can begin by pinning pictures from a website, re-pin other pictures you find on Pinterest, from friends that you follow, or a picture of your own. Once you “pin” that picture, it is important to credit where you found that inspiration and to make sure you file it under a particular board you have created, such as wedding, home ideas, favorite recipes, etc.
{Think of this as a way of saving documents under a certain folder on your desktop}.

Since most of our readers are Brides, or are affiliated to planning a wedding, we want to point out how Pinterest is a way of helping you visualize and get inspired for your big day!

Inspiration boards are perfect ways for a Bride to sort out the style, color and overall theme of her wedding all on one space. {Inspiration Boards, for those of you that do not know, are boards/posters that you attach pictures of ideas you like for your wedding in a collage format}

Inspiration boards create visualization of the big picture – helping you shop for flowers, your dress, bridal party attire, shoes, or putting together the color schemes for centerpieces that will coordinate with the style and look that you are going for.

On Pinterest, you can create an inspiration board for your wedding…and not just one but several inspiration boards! Pinterest is the “green” way to create your inspiration board, no messy clippings from magazines or print outs from the computer, you can go wild and not have to store that huge poster board you created!

Pinterest is also great way to open your eyes and mind to everything beautiful. You will find things and ideas that you have never seen or thought of before!
