Happy {be inspired } Tuesday! Today we are going to show you how we made the record bowls for the Inspired Events Bridal Bowl that was show cased at our booth.

We made the record bowls to hold our “Rockin’ Good Time” rock candy favor for all of the brides and their friends. Our theme was Rock and Roll Edgy bride and wanted to some how incorporate records.

This project is perfect for the Retro Bride!

Recipe – Record Bowl!

Rockin’ Ingredients:

1 Record (or as many as you want to make)
1 Oven safe bowl
1 Cookie Sheet
2 Oven mitts

Here we go…

Step 1 Preheat oven to 200º F

Pick a record that you don't mind messing up. You can find them at thrift stores or ask your parents if they have some tucked away in the garage or attic!

Place your oven safe bowl UPSIDE DOWN on the cookie sheet, then place the record ontop of the bowl and center it in the middle so it can fall evenly on the sides of the bowl.

Place your cookie sheet in the oven for 8 - 10 minutes. Vinyl will get soft and start to melt onto the sides of the bowl (like you see in the picture)

Remove from oven, this is where the oven mitt comes in! The cookie sheet and bowl will be very hot so be careful! Place the cookie sheet on top of a flat surface (stove top, counter, table, etc. - the sheet is warm so place a towel on counter/table surfaces) Peel the record off of the bowl! Remember the bowl is hot so use your mitt to help you turn over the bowl.

Place the record inside of the bowl so it can cool and keep the shape of the bowl. Cooling time is 1 - 2 minutes. If you do not like the shape that it is making, or you feel like you messed it up - simply place it back into the oven and the vinyl will start to melt again.

If you want the bowl to turn out larger, choose a bigger bowl for it to take shape in.

Your record bowl should now be stiff!

And there you have it! Your very own record bowl. We used ours to hold rock candy favors but the bowl can also be used for center pieces (when using for floral arrangements remember there is a whole in the bottom of the record!) Get creative there are multiple uses for these bowls for your wedding decor!

We hope you enjoyed this DIY project. If you make a bowl send us a picture or share it on our facebook!

Hope you have an {inspired} day!

Love,
Danielle + Cecily
