Bubbles? Wrapped chocolates in cute little (but expensive) boxes? Jordan almonds? What are you going to choose for your wedding day favor? Are you planning these traditional and somewhat expected favors to give your guests? Before you write that next check see  some other ways to personalize these gifts. We want to show you some {unexpected} favors that are cost effective and will surprise and be loved by your guests.

POTTED PLANTS- Potted plants are totally unexpected and your guests will love them. Not only does it mean that you are sending them away with your own rendition of a “love fern” but it will also add the overall effect of the table-scape! Need some ideas for potted plants? Think: succulents, small flowers, cactus, basil, etc. Something that is easy for them to carry after and that will fit on your table without overbearing it.

WILD FLOWER SEED PACKET- You can do this in many different ways. By already putting the seeds inside the packet/pouch, and leaving it at the table for the guests, OR you can always fill the seeds up inside of a trough, and have the bags at their table with instructions to fill the packet with wild flower seeds. You can attach the instructions on a tag on the bag or you can create a sign next to the trough explaining the details of it. To get creative and to personalize this favor: find wildflowers that are specific to a month that either you and your fiance met or the month of your wedding. Its always fun to tie in symbolism!

PHOTOBOOTH- While these can be a little more pricey, they tend to not only create a favor that your guests can keep forever, but it creates activity at the wedding! Everyone won’t be dancing all at the same time (they need breaks) and instead of sitting down at their table again, this will give them something else to do, like take funky pictures! Most photobooth vendors have packages that will print 2 strips-one for the guest and one for you and your hubby!

BAKED GOODS/JAMS/HOTSAUCE- Think of a recipe that runs in your family or your fiance’s side of the family. OR think of a recipe that the two of you love together. We have seen homemade jams in cute little jam jars, brownies or muffins already baked inside of mason jars (so cute), hotsauce in personalized bottles, favorite sodas, honey in a jar, etc. You can get as creative as you want with this one! {if you want, you can always attach the recipe to a tag on the item or create a sticker and place it on the item}.

CANDY BAR- Yes, your candy bar at your wedding CAN serve as a favor! Find all of you and your fiances favorite candy (color coordinating or not) put them in different sized jars (large, medium & small) of different shapes and place bags on the table next to the candy. You can use clear candy bags or you can personalize the bag to fit the theme of your wedding. REMEMBER candy scoopers for each jar.

MISC-  Give your guests something that stands out as a theme in your wedding. For example, if it is a beachy theme, use starfish or sand-dollars and place them on each plate at every table OR you can also use them as name cards for seating arrangments. Another fun and different favor can be a sparkler…Put them out right before the grand exit, with a thank you note attached to each sparkler, and use them for your grand exit! A candle is also a great gift to give to each guest- if you are really crafty, you can make them yourself! If you are having a wintery wedding, think about using ornaments as your favors. Ornaments are classy, mostly everyone uses them and keeps them forever, reminding them of your wedding.

{Favor Inspiration Board}

We hope that these helped you with deciding on what to do for your wedding favor! There are so many different favors that you can create! Just remember, to make it unique and truly {you}, personalize it with a quote, bible verse, short story of where you met etc. What is {your} favorite wedding favor? What did you use at your wedding or what have you seen done before? We would love to know!

Love,
Danielle & Cecily

    Yay! love the jam idea and totally wanted to do it but after having to buy jars, then make a huge pot of jam, that just seemed like too much work!

    We had plants as our wedding favors that doubled as table decorations. They were in cute little teacups we scrounged around thrift stores for and just bought a flat of babys tears or moss and filled the cups. They turned out adorable and I get pictures every so often from friends/family who still have them and, my have they grown!
