Bring on the Sugar!

September 29, 2011

Weddings have come a long way since our parents got married! One thing that has changed increasingly over the past few decades and just within the past few years is CAKE. Cake is important and traditional for most weddings, but what about the Brides that don’t like cake and would rather have something else? Well there are several options for you : candy bar, dessert bar (think anything sugary) cupcakes, candy apples, ice cream sundae bar…do we have you drooling yet?! Here are some ideas we gathered from other blogs that caught our sweet tooth! Have a sugar coated Thursday!

A gorgeous & elegant yet fun cake with candy and desserts beside it. We love how these beautiful and soft colored peonies and roses accent the bottom of the cake.

Three.tiered cake with color coordinating desserts {whoopie pies & cupcakes}

Several homemade cakes that match the theme and style of your wedding. To make it more interesting, add some color inside of the cake! {be sure to check with venue about bringing homemade desserts- some places have limitations}

Cookie and dessert buffet galore! ... Image from Private Event Space ice cream sundaes give a fun and brilliant twist to the usual dessert at weddings.

This is definitely Danielle's favorite đŸ™‚ candy apples = vintage, classic,whimsy and perfect for non-cake fans! Pair it with a simple cake for cutting and you are set! ...

Traditional cakes are always {in} but to go with something more stylish & fashionable, choose a cake that compliments or matches the appliques of your gown!

We hope you enjoy these ideas as much as we did! Happy planning and cake/candy/ice cream tasting!

Leave a comment- What is your favorite dessert idea?
